The Family Trip – Melbourne and Tasmania

IMG_0263.JPGHaving embarked on our Icelandic adventure almost a year ago, me and Pari struggled to find any decent destination to match the place that we so much fell in love with. New Zealand came close but finally after much posturing we decided to go with a less adventurous trip to Melbourne and Tasmania.

The challenge this time was to plan an itinerary that was possible for my folks, since they were coming along, not just in terms of where to go, but also what to eat and where to stay.

For some reason, I couldn’t find as much content on the internet compared to Iceland, especially for Tasmania. But with the confidence I gained from planning trips to Perth, Bangkok, and Iceland I came up with one that worked surprisingly well and we managed to accomplish most of the things we set out to do or see. At the end of the day, it was time well spent-nothing beats time with your loved ones.

Over the next week or so I will detail the places we visited, where we stayed, where we ate and how much we spent. You might find the itinerary a little bit less adventurous in a sense but bear in mind we had to consider travelling as a group!

    Hi!

I was just contemplating doing a Melb+Tas as I came across some pictures of the Tasman National Park. Looking forward to your sharing, thanks!

      Hi Daphne!
      Thanks for reading .
I’ve just posted our first day in Tasmania, sorry it’s taking a while!
Tasmania is a really nice place, I actually preferred it compared to Melbourne though both places are equally wonderful in their own right.
You will have a great trip if you do go!
